Penumbral lunar eclipses
All three lunar eclipses of 2027 are penumbral: the Moon only passes through Earth's faint outer shadow, a dimming that is hard to notice. By tradition, penumbral eclipses are not observed — there is no sutak and no special rituals.
6 February 2027 annular solar eclipse
This annular (“ring of fire”) eclipse is not visible from Sri Lanka or India, so no sutak applies there.
